In theory,(I don’t really know 100% because I’m fairly new to this)as long as you have the right compiler you should be able to use any language.

Yeah, I was pretty uneducated when I made that comment, scratch it

  10. Mach1723 says:

Well the fact that almost everything made commercially software wise is available in some form or way on ubuntu supports EVERYTHING Also i`m a windows user so don`t think i hate windows cuz i don`t

  11. recoordant says:

not likely, most major programs have support for linux-ubuntu and you can run windows programs using wine.

  12. DaRkNaRaKu says:

That’s just because you suck. Too bad people badmouth shit just because they can’t get it to work.

  14. djhoody18 says:

    Ahahaha

Unbuntu isn’t compatible with fucking ANYTHING

  15. darkwiz666 says:

Im sry…but windows users (me) should hate MAC ONLY…at least Unix allows people to develop without giving two shits…just like windows.

Now lets look at MAC…I rest my case

  16. darkwiz666 says:

What type of programming can you do in Unix based systems? Can I do C, C++, C#, etc.?
I don’t really care much about the games area, since my comp cant really handle any of the good ones anyway…I just want to know if I can program so I can still learn them.

  17. Scabbiexz says:

download Vlc … i think that has a version for ubuntu and that can play loads of stuff :D

  18. SpiderTash says:

  21. arni0202 says:

can’t you just download codec packs onto unbuntu so you can watch videos? Does Unbuntu support AnyDVD?

  22. elfgod says:

    Bias video.

  23. SpiderTash says:

yeah, exactly. i would have switched by now too if it wasn’t for that. a friend of mine hates windows, and has 4 computers with Linux, but he has to keep 1 with windows for games. and my gf has a computer with vista, definitely staying away from that. need to buy me at least 1 other version of xp before they stop selling it in June.

  24. JeefCakes says:

The only thing keeping me from trying a Linux O/S at the moment is it’s lack of support of games. That’s the only real thing Windows has going for it. Linux folk need to pressurise nVidia, ATi and games developers to take them seriously. I’d switch in a heartbeat then. I’m certainly not switching from XP anyway.

Try to install flash plugin so you can watch video in unbuntu try to play call of duty or run itumes its not going to happen
