My radeon 9600 overheated and broke in my 8600, now I have a crappy 32mb geforec card, does the job but not as good. Did you get wireless working with ubuntu, after hours and hours of trying I gave up. It was actually much easier to install macosx86 and get it working with everything than ubuntu, who woulda thought.
dx10 is windows vista only!!
ubuntu is a Linux distro and therefore only runs OpenGL for graphics…… (the effects manager seen here is called Beryl and you have to install it on top of ubuntu)

it works with open driver(with AIGLX) and ati driver(8.37) on xgl session … this is beryl 0.3.0 (by Telperion)

i haven’t nvidia 5200. i have ati 9600 pro turbo 128mb. actually i use fglrx(8.6) driver with compiz fusion(default installed on ubuntu 8.04).
How do you get thoes effects that laptop has a 5200fx in it please tell i own that laptop and i am a ubuntu user

Pues creo que Linux y Mac OS X, es lo mejor que existe en sistemas operativos, mmm creo sin embargo, que los desarrolladores que hacen Linux, se basan en demasiadas cosas que tiene Mac OS, el exposé, el dashboard, los escritorios viruales y el entorno grafico en general es muy muy parecido a lo que tenemos en Mac, es un muy buen trabajo por parte de estos desarrolladores para ser Open Source…
