  7. DavinTerrizzi says:

That’s his settings, you can do it much faster. It’s just that he wants it to be so slow (animations)

  8. ubuntu33 says:

It goes MUCH faster on a dualcore..depends on what computer u have..

  9. sasimon19 says:

Ubuntu 7.10 already has compiz fusion installed in it…

just go to System > Preferences > Appearance
then go to the effects tab, then turn on effects… its that easy…

(note you have to have an adequate graphics card and drivers installed)

  10. nitanovidiu says:

Lol… Slow animations :) ) You aren’t borried to wait so much time for a window to appear? :D

  11. bazmarc says:

try Envy — it did a great job taking care of BigScreen (2 monitors) on my ATI radeon shit card. Just can,t get the Beryl stuff going tho :(

  12. linux4usall says:

i hav Ub7.10 also. instead of making videos with music, can u make 1 that explains how to instal compiz, for me & thousands of others, please, b4 i shoot myself and die without having had a chance 2 experience it, PLEEZ??!

  13. jexxybwoy says:

you can but its a bit slow. why dont you just create a partition and have both.

I prefer Ubuntu, once you get past the variety of commands its the best OS you’ll ever use. Could never get the hang of the compiz thing always broke the OS!

  14. overclocked221 says:

I seen something called cedega, from what I know wine is for windows apps and runs games slower, and cedega is for games.

  15. dhansel001 says:

I downloaded ubuntu 7.10 yesterday. I would like to just run it off the CD and not install it on my computer.
Is there a way to do that?
    dh

  16. exekyelipliz says:

yeah i know i left edgy eft cus my ati was causing me problems, but use beryl is very simple i remember compiz with hoary, now is much more easy with this version, so u cant say that is imposible learn all this, even more u can have a NTFS partition and u will work with files from windows and u can play windows games with WINE.

    result= VISTA+XP+LINUX.

  17. Dejaiin says:

Thats a horrible lie. Ubuntu Boots much faster than Xp. Ubuntu non professional version has all the effects seen here. You obviously run ubuntu on a horrible pc and it still works!

  18. ninjikiran says:

Nah, its not that hard to get it to be that pretty. Even driver installation is alo easier these days, there still is a little learning curve but alot of monotonous activities have been more “automated”

  19. benhowil says:
