@colmeweb If nothing showed up under the proprietary drivers, it’s probably an Intel-based card. It should work ok, but there are some alternate drivers you can get. I believe you have to add the xorg-edgers PPA to get it. Not 100% sure on it. Might be worth a look at Ubuntu Forums.

Thanks for the help, I’m not sure what type of vid card I have but according to ubuntu there aren’t any proprietary drivers active on my computer. The videos are a little better but they still have tracking lines on occasion.

@Pepsifx357 hmm. not sure how I could do each one justice in just a couple of minutes. I know sneekylinux covers a ton of those type of distros.

I was suggesting that you do Tiny Core, but I was thinking. It would be better if you did a “Small Linux Distro Blitz” episode and went through a few of the small Linux distros in one show. Puppy, DSL, Feather, and Tiny Core. Bam, done. I think you could do that in under 10 min.

@mguilmot I was glad to finally get the opportunity to get all this out there. There are probably a bunch more questions I could have answered, but there’s always time to do it in the future!
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.

Very nice to shoot this video. Very honest video as always. Might be the reason why I view every one of your videos. No bullshit, not trying to show off or anything AND you take the time to read and respond to the comments. Very nice job indeed !!
Keep it up!

@gitorious I’ll definitely have to consider it. My books are about half fiction, half tech stuff.

@FearedBliss Hah, yeah. I’ve actually cut back on ways to contact me. I used to have a Formspring account and an Identi.ca account too.

@DrSunnz I would talk about my day job, but I’d have to do it somewhere else because, sadly, I work in a Windows world, using .NET with C#.

@applegekko

@haxtor21 Not a bad idea. I had done that in a vlog a while back, but I ended up deleting all of those.

@colmeweb What sort of video card do you have? Did you enable the proprietary drivers for it if it’s ATI or Nvidia?
Sunday, 4. July 2010
@martmelee I’ve been messing with Slackware in a VM lately. Pretty cool.
Thanks for watching!

I like @korwinblue’s idea, maybe if you like and have the time, you could share with us what books you have on your bookshelf. I’m a bookworm, that means I devour books
so I’d like to find what other’s read.

I think it’d be interesting to see what you program for your day job… it is not dotNet is it? :p

This is just a general question. I just started using Linux (Ubuntu 10.04) and the online vid is a little rough. Is there a better driver/interface/whatever that would make it look a little better. Thanks
