This is just me playing around with Arch Linux. I messed up upgrading my system, but w/e. I’m running GNOME, Gnome-Do, Gnomenu, compiz-fusion and emerald for my eye candy. I also built this comp myself, these are the specs: AMD Phenom 2, quad core, 3.4ghz nvidia 240 GT 1GB GDDR5 2 1TB harddrives 4GB DDR3 RAM
ah, very cool, thanks for the answer
The thing about arch is that it is minimal, when you install it all you get is the terminal and pacman. There are no arch specific dependencies : ) Pacman can find, install and solve any dependencies for your apps. Though some apps aren’t in the official repos, you want to get yaourt for things in the user repos.
nice specs and Arch Linux looks cool, always been a ubuntu user myself but i may have to give this a go
are there any arch specic repositorys for files? one reason i moved away from ubuntu (and bare in mind this is many many years ago) was the difficulties i had in obtaining packages, or even browsing for something by use rather than finding projects i already knew about. I’m not a linux user primarily as you can guess though ubuntu made it much more accesible.
btw Arch is awesome. Got it on my desktop too
Enemy of your freedom, terrible cards etc
What about nvidia?
Nvidia? oh god
