    im running Lubuntu right now :)
    And i must say that i LOVE IT!
    it is so fast! And i got counter-strike to work easy as nothing.
    So… i think that i have found me an distro that i will stay with!
    Thanks for uploading the video!!! 5* ^^

    @OSGUIShow
    OK thanks. One more thing:
    Is it just me or is there no news on Linux Mint 9 Isadora?
    There is no new features page, betas, alphas, bug fixes list that we can see.
    BTW, when Mint 9 is released, would it be easy? to upgrade to it or hard- or should I just stay with Mint 8?

  3. OSGUIShow says:

    LXDE is the most light-weight quickest & usable GUI which I have ever seen to date

  4. tardis0011 says:

    @OSGUIShow
    Ok thanks, but which is the fastest, the one the brings the best battery life, best GUI, and could run WINE- XFCE or LXDE?

  5. OSGUIShow says:

    yep they make a fast lappy a super fast one and yet battery life is better
    the smaller the apps the less power it needs

  6. tardis0011 says:

    Out of interest, would XFCE and LXDE bring any benefits on a fast laptop (ie a computer that could run the resource-hungry Vista). Because I know that they are made for old computers but what about fast laptops. Could it also bring better battery life?

  7. OSGUIShow says:

    yeah that will be cool

  8. Ubuntufrog says:

    Linux Mint from what I heard is coming out with an lxde community edition so this should be interesting.

  9. OSGUIShow says:

    Yeah I too look forward to Lubuntu Lucid final version coming out, I have some old pc’s around I can put it on too ;-)

  10. Raja221 says:

    Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait for the official release as i have an old dog with a P2 300MHZ processor being used as a media server with puppy linux ( which i do like) but ubuntu has a much better software repo.

  11. tardis0011 says:

    I’ve heard there is no ‘trash can’ (or ‘rubbish bin’ if you live in the UK like me) in Lubuntu…that’s one thing that’s gonna keep me from switching.

  12. wallybescotty says:

    not to bad for a alpha, looks alot like knoppix, did it preload with compiz? knoppix does, we used it that on a flash drive to fix a netbook with xp one time lol

  22. sneekylinux says:

    the alpha 3 should be out in a week or so,so should have sorted your bugs out,and lxde is my fave anyway as you should know my little aussie..lol

  23. mpalen19 says:

    Cool.

  24. FischundCoProduction says:

    lol funny quick

  25. schmidtbag says:

    if you want better performance, do debian with lxde. its a bit more work but honestly, if you’re looking for a high-performance system with very little ram usage, you should spend a little more time with it. most of the programs lubuntu comes with are not part of lxde at all. i use lxde on my netbook and its the best thing that ever happened to it. the DE with the kernel by themselves uses about 1gb of hdd space, and after my setup was complete, only 50mb of ram is used at bootup
