If Windows itself has problems that are causing it to crash and you don’t have a hardware problem, then no, the crashes will not carry over to Linux. In fact you can use Linux to access your documents/photos/music etc on your Windows partition if Windows wont boot. The distributions I’d most recomment for new users would probably be some of the usual suspects – Ubuntu, Mandriva & Mint are aimed at ordinary folks and are popular. Try more than one, use what you like, whatever works best for you.

sounds awsome but my computer crashes a lot will that carry over to linux if i install it and if not which brand do you recomend?

I think it would be fair if you mention the disadvantages of running via emulation, such as lack of optimization and extra processes necessary to run games.

have you tired it yet? did it get the sound working for you?
in my other video thats just about Wine I show what I mean by this….

i just assumed it was me not getting pulseaudio to work with all my apps. It wouldn’t have bee the first time. you have created a beast i’ll never run wow without sound again. sometimes sound effects are not wanted like the pesty gesture sounds that do exist in SL sometimes it is beneficial to have just Audio and media sounds Active none of that Ambient sound which gets on my nerves.

with normal wine u need to go into the config utility to sound tab to get it working
the difference with crossover for games is they give a guarantee that it will work an will provide you with tech support if u need it

i can’t speak for everyone but my experience of wine and games like World of warcraft are not that favourable when it comes to getting the game to start. Once it starts it can be just as reliable windows. the latest patch for example has a habit of runing the launcher.exe and changing the file permissions so it can’t be run the work around being to create a launcher which runs wow.exe directly. i never ever got in game sound to work but i’m not a fan of sound when playing WoW anyway.
