Composite Notifications in Ubuntu 9.04

The notifications in Ubuntu 9.04 (Alpha 4) when you have desktop effects enabled. Neither of Istanbul and Gtk-recordmydesktop could record sound; please comment if you know about any other similar software that can record sound as well.
