Dude this installation is different as compared to 8.10… i would be burning the CD and then creating the partitions, i already have vista on my comp, so do we get that bar that lets us make adjust the partitions like earlier? or do we simply have to manually do it? if its that way it SUCKS ! man

That depends on how your external drive is connected. If it is connected by USB or FireWire then no, you can’t. I actually shouldn’t say you can’t, but it would be unusably slow. You can do it with an eSATA connection as that provides better speeds. If you want to run linux from a USB device there are several options such as Damn Small Linux and Puppy Linux.
Can i install Ubuntu on external portable hard drive or i have to install ubuntu on the computer hard drive?
