install cmatrix www.asty.org What is CMatrix? =-) CMatrix is a program I wrote one evening because I didn’t want to have to run Wind*ws to see the cool scrolling lines from ‘The Matrix’, my fave movie. If you haven’t seen this movie and you are a fan of computers or sci-fi in general, go see this movie!!! I have seen it twice, and I’m pondering seeing it again before it comes out on VHS. Cmatrix is written in ncurses under Linux, and should compile on other OSes with few modifications. I am always interested to hear from people who use this program and any modifications they make to it! CMatrix is distributed via the GNU GPL, please see the COPYING file or the GNU Project homepage for more information. Options: -a: Asynchronous scroll, more like the movie/original screensaver -b: Partial bold text mode -B: All bold text mode -f: Force the linux $TERM type to on -l: Linux support for linux console matrix.fnt font -n: No bold text mode -o: Use “old-style” scrolling – less like the movie, more like the Win/Mac screensaver. -s: “Screen saver” mode. xte – Generates fake input using the XTest extension Xautomation Control X from the command line for scripts, and do “visual scraping” to find things on the screen. The control interface allows mouse movement, clicking, button up/down, key up/down, etc, and uses the XTest extension so you don’t have the annoying problems that xse has when apps ignore sent events. The visgrep program find images inside of images and reports the coordinates, allowing programs to find buttons, etc, on the screen to click on.

Hi there Ubuntu, 10.04 beta 1 has been publicly released, based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. This beta comes packed with a variety of updates, including an updated Linux kernel 2.6.32, new skins, features and much more. Ubuntu 10.04 beta 1 is loaded with updates and new features like GNOME 2.28, which gives developers and users ultimate control over their desktop, software and data. Mozilla also has been updated with the new default search engine set to Yahoo! – although users can set their home page to Yahoo! or Google, depending on their settings. KDE SC 4.4 will be featured in the latest beta, with an assortment of applications from development, games, multimedia, office, utilities and many more. Likewise-open received a major update, for Active Directory authentication and server support for Linux. This package will support Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and Ubuntu 9.10. Yes, YAWGRAWIL (Yet Another Windows Game Running Atop Wine In Linux). Oblivion was created by “Bethesda” and “2K” game companies. Bethesda went onto create “Fallout 3″ and 2K (Boston/Australia) made “Bioshock” . Two games you can’t play in linux until Wine catches up.. However, Oblivion runs in Wine on Linux now.. And keeping to how I like to do things I’m going to complete the whole game in Linux. Not to prove Linux is better or anything, but to prove that it can be done in Linux….

Here is a short video I made tonight of my Pertelian X2040 running under Red Hat Linux. I am using the LCD4Linux drivers and widgets to show the current date and time, system uptime, load average, cpu load and ethernet traffic stats on the LCD screen that is connected to the systems USB port.
