Un video donde se explica de manera simple que es linux… vĂdeo recomendable para todos aquellos que se pregunten que es linux.
In this video I show you how to easily clone a hard drive. to do this you’ll need a live ubuntu CD and a second hard drive. This can be used to clone any hard drive with any OS installed in it. The command is: sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb bs=1024 where sda is the hd you are copying from and sdb is the hd you’re copying to. so make sure you change those according to your setup. **You do this while booted into an Ubuntu live cd** **make sure to backup all important data before doing this as a precaution in case something goes wrong.**
quesomanrulz.com / twitter.com – Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) is the latest and certainly greatest from the Ubuntu flavor of Linux. Shipping with Ubuntu 9.10 is a heavily modified version of the classic bootloader “GRUB”. This is honestly the only thing I find negative about Karmic, I feel that GRUB 2 is certainly a downgrade, at least from an end-user standpoint. Not only do I feel that it does not look as good, what with its solid and primitive appearance, it is incredibly more complicated to configure than the previous bootloader…read more: Text Guide: ubuntuforums.org
Fedora 13 (GNU/Linux) Acer Aspire One 532h-2789 (netbook) N450 1.66Ghz 1GB ram -6.5 to 7 hours battery (streaming audio, 50K Firefox web page reload per 5 seconds, several shells, irc and all traffic over an ssh tunnel. Unreal II / PM by Purple Motion of Future Crew (1993) Unreal II – The 2nd Reality by Skaven of Future Crew Aquaria – www.bit-blot.com Humble – www.wolfire.com Fedora 13 (beta) on an Acer Aspire One 532h-2789 running Eclipse and the Android emulator, firefox, open office calc and Aquaria. Basic external view of machine and working sleep functions etc. Overall Id rate this a 4 of 5 star netbook. The battery lasts about an hour less than advertised with my usage. I dont like the idea of paying an MS tax, that is paying for something Ill never use and consider it illegal and unethical. The keyboard is quite nice, the display sharp, it barely gets warm under heavy loads, all hardware has been working flawlessly and the install went without a single issue. The power cord retainer is trash and will fall apart the instant you use it. They should spend the money they use on the mass number of stickers on the device and packaging to improve small things such as that retainer. Id recommend this netbook to any linux user in need of something light weight, long battery life and wanting to do basic computing tasks.
When a file is deleted from your computer it is not really deleted. it still exists and it’s possible to recover even if you empty the trash. In this video I demonstrate deleting files and recovering them using Testdisk (Photorec) in Ubuntu. – This will work as long as the space where those files are was not overwritten – Comments and suggestions are always welcomed.
Screencast Review style video Tutorial on How-to Install and use the main featured of Mythbuntu Linux 10.04 RC Lucid Lynx 32bit free Open Source Operating System. This OS has a special MythTV Graphical User Interface which is like Media Center and also uses the Xfce GUI to allow the user to do normal PC tasks like browse the Internet with Firefox. The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the Release Candidate for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Long-Term Support) today for all derivatives. Mythbuntu is a community supported add-on for Ubuntu focused upon setting up a standalone MythTV based PVR system. It can be used to prepare a standalone system or for integration with an existing MythTV network. Unlike similar projects, Mythbuntu keeps close ties with Ubuntu and all development is given back to Ubuntu. This architecture allows simple conversions from a standard desktop to a Mythbuntu machine and vice versa. The development cycle of Mythbuntu closely follows that of Ubuntu, releasing every six months along side Ubuntu releases. Original video production by the www.OSGUI.com Tech Show. In this video I explain What Exactly Is Linux? What does it mean? Why use it? This original video by the OSGUI Tech Show is an opinionated editorial blog style piece. I also talk about how Linux fits into GNU Unix and the Free Open Source Software Industry. GNU/Linux is a generic term referring to Unix-like computer Operating Systems based on the Linux kernel. Linux is most prominent free & open source software collaboration; typically all the underlying source code can be used, freely modified, and redistributed, both commercially and non-commercially, by anyone under licenses such as the GNU General Public License.
