I upgraded a Parsix installation to Debian Sid. Felt like showing off my Suki-themed desktop and it’s green color scheme. Can your computer do this?

This video demonstrates how to get Ubuntu 10.04 set up in a VM with Compiz. Note: It is very important to upgrade BEFORE installing VirtualBox tools, as the update upgrades the kernel, which in turn wipes the graphics card module. Making Compiz unavailable. This is a demo of my Fedora 12 desktop, running Compiz Fusion for 3d effects (I did have to do some work to code my Nvidia drivers to get 3d enabled effects.) I am also running a AWN dock with the “squish” feature enabled to make my dock icons jump. I have on Wiggle Windows which is the windows that shake around and snap into place. I have 3d Cube enabled, with features like transparent cube and things like that (you can have a much higher number of workstations, I just use 4). I am working to install a video capture straight from the desktop, but recordmydesktop and others don’t seem to work in good quality, not sure what is wrong, if anyone has ideas, pleassse help me! Basic external view of machine and working sleep functions etc. Overall Id rate this a 4 of 5 star netbook. The battery lasts about an hour less than advertised with my usage. I dont like the idea of paying an MS tax, that is paying for something Ill never use and consider it illegal and unethical. The keyboard is quite nice, the display sharp, it barely gets warm under heavy loads, all hardware has been working flawlessly and the install went without a single issue. The power cord retainer is trash and will fall apart the instant you use it. They should spend the money they use on the mass number of stickers on the device and packaging to improve small things such as that retainer. Id recommend this netbook to any linux user in need of something light weight, long battery life and wanting to do basic computing tasks.
A simple video showing the latest release candidate, Ubuntu 10.04 x64 (Lucid Lynx). This is running real-time and not in a virtual machine. I was able to upgrade from 9.10 using the update-manager. The final release is expected on April 29, 2010. Music provided by: ‘Auera’ at: www.mp3.com *For the video background, use xwinwrap. A simple tutorial can be found at the following link: sathyasays.com ** The bottom panel is not part of the release. I’m using Avant Window Manager, which can be found in the Software Center.
