My Linux Mint laptop running Compiz, Cairo-Dock (just for show), and easystroke. I know Ubuntu desktops are kinda overdone, but I thought I would throw mine on for the hell of it… Though I love Linux, I’m not trying to start a Linux/Windows/Mac war in the comments section.

My Ubuntu Desktop has been upgraded from 8.04-9.04 (effortlessly!) and soon to be 9.10 just leaving it a couple of days for the dust to settle. I can honestly say I have grown more and more impressed with Ubuntu over the last two years. My only reservation with Linux is the narrow permission sets for the Server versions. This is two video cameras set up in parallel directed at my monitor while install Ubuntu 9.10, the video was composited with blender, took half a day to render and hours worth..My previous video in my channel shows what I did to make this video and how I cut down the render time. This is a high resolution (~1180×934) screen capture (using gtk-recordmydesktop) done on a Pentium D Extreme Edition overclocked to 4.2Ghz, with a NVidia 8600 graphics card. The audio used a Soundblaster Live 24-bit. Native audio mixer supports routing audio from output back into mic, so audio from game and my mic were mixed in hardware. What you are seeing is approximately the full frame rate of the game.
